What if... ...I really did hate you? Marie stared at Charon, for once not caring if he saw her. She waited for him to ask, waited and waited, as she had waited for two weeks now. But nothing. He ignored her, not even giving her a smile as he used to. Her green eyes hardened, glazing over abruptly. She flipped her hair angrily; he didn't move, pretending she wasn't standing right in front of him. Looking through her. Marie hissed at him, finally getting his attention. "What do you want, Marie?" "What-what do I-" Furious, Marie couldn't even get the words out. I want you to pay attention to me! I want you to be my best friend again! But right then, with his coldly uncaring gaze burning into her, she decided she didn't care any more. She took a step back, and another, breathing heavily, keeping her eyes on his. "Nothing. I don't want anything from you," she said quietly before disappearing into the soothing emptiness of the Void, the one place she had complete control over. She paused a moment, then sent one harsh note out, a ripple that would lock everyone out. Nothing could reach her in her quiet place. Nothing. For a long time, she let herself float, drifting aimlessly, her eyes closed, not thinking. Meditating.

What if... ...I really did love you? With her eyes closed, Tsukiko stretched, her short black skirt riding up her thighs. She didn't notice, didn't care; her mind was on bigger things. Like what James was doing, what Kagami was making for breakfast, where Kurai had run off to in the middle of the night when she thought no one was awake. "Tsukiko! If you're going to eat, come eat!" Kagami shouted. The sound of a chair being pulled back could be heard, then two thumps when Kagami slammed the plates on the table impatiently. Tsukiko smiled and pulled out of the stretch, flipping her long black hair over one shoulder. She approached the dining room warily, ready for trouble. But it was just Kagami sitting there, wolfing down pancakes. Tsukiko sat across from her with a sigh, digging into her own generous stack of pancakes. "What were you doing in there?" Kagami asked; not suspicious, just curious. "Stretching." "Why?" Tsukiko shrugged. "Kurai snuck out last night," she said, changing the subject. "Not very successfully, if you heard her leave," Kagami remarked, rolling her eyes. "No," Tsukiko agreed, her blue eyes thoughtful. "I wonder where she went..." "You should be wondering why she thought she had to sneak out," Kagami pointed out, gesturing with her fork. "Mm."

I could never say that. Not to him. Because I just don't know how he would respond. Besides, who wants a "one and only" when they're sixteen?? Is that even healthy??

I'm frustrated with this, very frustrated. When I try to write Lifestyles it comes out...well, not the way I want it, let's put it that way. It's okay, it's just not what I want. But I did some spring cleaning on my quizilla homepage, so all the useless junk is gone. Bah. Also, I've been working a bit on one of my side stories, which I also (for some unfathomable reason) posted on quizilla. -rolls eyes-
